Handgun Classes

Handgun Level 1

This is an all-day class focusing on the fundamentals of shooting handguns and provides the foundational skills to allow students to progress in their training or train on their own.  There is no prerequisite for this course.  The course covers firearms safety, proper grip, proper stance, emergency and tactical reloads, drawing from a holster, multiple target engagement, accuracy, and shooting with the dominant and non-dominant hand.  Students should bring a serviceable handgun, quality holster, a minimum of three (3) magazines or speed loaders, two (2) pouches to carry spare ammunition, safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing appropriate for the weather, sunscreen, a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition, water, hat, and a lunch.

Handgun Level 2

This is an all-day class building on the foundation created in Defensive Handgun Level 1.  Students must have taken Defensive Handgun Level 1 prior to taking this course.  Students learn to shoot one-handed with either hand, reload and clear malfunctions one-handed and to shoot accurately at distances out to 25 yards and beyond.  Students should bring a serviceable handgun, quality holster, a minimum of three (3) magazines or speed loaders with pouches sufficient to carry three (3) reloads, safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing appropriate for the weather, sunscreen, a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition, water, hat, and a lunch.

Handgun Level 3

This is an all-day course teaching students to shoot while moving and operate as part of a team.  This is a great course for husbands and wives as well as the whole family to learn to work and communicate effectively during a critical incident. Students will also learn the basics of low light shooting and operating a handgun while using a tactical light.  Students are required to have completed Defensive Handgun 1, and 2 prior to taking this course.  Students should bring a serviceable handgun, quality holster, a minimum of three (3) magazines or speed loaders with pouches to carry three (3) reloads, safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing appropriate for the weather, sunscreen, a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition, water, hat, and a lunch.
